Great location and lovely view
We loved our stay. The hotel is beautiful and we splurged for a lake view on a high floor and worth it! Also the staff was incredibly friendly and the location perfect. We could walk to the lovely upscale shops and the lake and even to the new park and museum. But in an area that had a leafy neighborhood feeling. We will stay here when we come back to Chicago!

We will definitely stay at sutton place when we return to chicago in the future!
we were very pleased with the location of the hotel, as well as the hotel itself. the staff at sutton place was very professional and helpful, and just as nice as can be. the room was very clean, and i must say, the water pressure in the shower was powerful! the only thing about our room that even in the slightest dissatisfied me was the fact that there was not a coffee maker in there. aside from that, i would highly recommend sutton place to anyone.

Chicago has done an amazing job with this park. Beautiful plantings, awesome architectural ampitheatre that seems to have music going every time we are there, fountains to actually cool off in...

Definitely go both during the day and at night. The view of the city behind the faces fountain is incredible.

We were wandering around without a plan and ran into Millennium Park. How cool! A concert was going on in the band shell- a string orchestra- totally neat to see, some arts and crafts were being done in the family area (we really didn't have enough time to check that out but it looked neat), and seriously- the water area was awesome with the faces and the kids stomping around. The mirror/donut thing was neat too and we took plenty of pictures there. For the most part this was an unexpected free stop in Chicago and we could have spent a few hours here, but didn't have a few hours before we had to get back to the water taxi as we were due to meet someone for dinner!
Next time we're in Chicago - which should be soon, we'll be back.

I came and went, I ate and drank, I tasted the Taste.

I can't not go to Taste, and notice I said "Taste" and not "Taste of Chicago," which is reserved for the non-locals. Taste is part of Chicago summer, it's crazy and crowded (although not as much this year), it's tasty and smells delicious. It's a time honored tradition that I can't fully enjoy my summer without.

When we lived mere blocks from Taste we'd go at least 3 times, but this year we only made it once. It was a gorgeous night, not too hot, nice breeze, and surprisingly not that crowded. There were noticeably fewer food stands this year, but my favorites were there. My first stop is always BJ's Market for some of their fabulous mustard fried catfish...MMMM MMMM MMMM! A rainbow cone, fried plantains, lobster and pasta, a prime rib quesadilla and a few beers to wash it down, and it was a wonderfully familiar Tastextravaganza!

Two things I can NEVER understand about Taste: 1. the grossly over-sized turkey legs that people gnaw into like hyenas, and, 2. the ebola/e-coli/swine flu laced water ride that looks like an incubus of all that is germy. I didn't see the ebola ride this year..coincidence?

Long live the Taste! I love you crowds and all.

Alright, so I had some ridiculously amazing decadent sweet potato cheesecake that I will never forget... but I can't for the life of me remember which restaurant it was from, and probably wouldn't make it out to said restaurant even if I did have the name. Was very impressed with the music guests, but as for the "meat" of the fest, it's just pretty boring. Vendor after vendor after vendor of fairly decent but not amazing food, where the entire point of the trip is to figure out how to budget out your tickets and not end up with 1 or 2 left over. I felt like an 8 year old playing supermarket.

2009 was the first year I had the displeasure to go to Taste of Chicago. Before I went, I received these warnings from my friends:

1. It's crowded.
2. Plan on going home hungry.
3. Plan on getting asked for tickets.
4. Expect to have an odd amount of tickets left over.

After my experience, I feel that my friends' advice summed up Taste pretty well. And, as my friends said, "It's horrible, but it's like some other large events in Chicago: you have to go at least once for the experience and to understand that you're not missing out on anything."

My wife and I went to Chicago for the past weekend and we chose the Trump for the most part because of the great reviews on this site. I can tell you that the reviews were completely accurate and this hotel is really something else. From the hand towels on check in to the televsion in the centre of the bathroom mirror to the gorgeous huge hotel room, it was a wonderful weekend in luxury! Don't forget the location which is actually a block or so away from Michigan Avenue, which is actually perfect because you are right in the middle of everything, but a touch away so that you don't hear the noise. I was most impressed by the fact that the manager took the time to comment on each review, again all class! I just can't see how you can be dissappointed!

My husband, our 2 teenage boys and myself stayed for 3 nights in July at the Trump Hotel. I looked at almost every hotel available in Chicago before deciding on The Trump. I wanted a memorable time with our family as this was our last trip together before our son leaves for college. I selected the Trump because of it's location, completely non-smoking policy and why not....it looks great on their website! What a fabulous choice... We loved it! We got upgraded to a 1 bedroom suite which allowed us to completely spread out. Amazingly beautiful room.... large bedroom with the most comfortable king bed, living room with tall windows allowing for great views, 2 bathrooms, complete kitchen with big refrigerator.....unbelievable. We took in everything the hotel has to offer. We ate at Sixteen every morning for breakfast. Perhaps it is a little pricy but not that bad. The food was good, service was excellent and the views from this16th floor restaurant were spectacular. We went to the fitness center a couple of times. Top-notch! It was a pleasure to work out with such nice amenities everywhere....individual tv screens on new cardio equipment, bottles of Trump water available, clean and bright room, lots of weight machines, and the views! We also went to the new outside Terrace Restaurant/Bar on the 16th floor. It was a beautiful night and we were lucky enough to get a table. The views of the Chicago River, Wrigley clock and Chicago buildings lit up at night were beautiful. Very memorable! During our stay, we walked everywhere....up and down Michigan Avenue, along the river, to the lakefront.....the hotel location is ideal. We took the Wendell boat ride which we would highly recommend and we went looking for the best pizza (thin crust). By the way, our vote goes to Ginos over Guiordanos! Overall, we loved staying at The Trump Hotel and we had a fantastic time in Chicago.
